Pathcore is a Toronto-based software company specializing in whole slide digital pathology image management and workflow. The company develops leading enterprise-grade software for managing big pathology data which supports cancer informatics and healthcare IT. We are located in downtown Toronto, steps away from Queen’s Park metro station and the MaRS discovery district.

About the Position

Pathcore is currently recruiting an energetic, detailed-oriented, and motivated HR Manager to help us identify and retain talent that will facilitate our growth. The HR Manager will help define, develop and implement recruitment and HR strategies utilizing their knowledge and experience gained from similar roles at other companies. The successful candidate will develop recruitment drives for positions across various departments including IT, software development, sales, and marketing, oversee national recruitment strategies to identify and hire top talent, and develop an awareness campaign to increase the volume and quality of applications received. We expect this position will use social media, recruitment platforms and events (virtual and in person) to promote the company and career opportunities in order  to attract passive and active candidates. They will act as the first point of contact for candidates and will be able to talk knowledgeably about Pathcore and the roles posted.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement recruitment strategies that align with business goals
  • Develop employee retention programs and initiatives
  • Oversee employee relations by addressing demands, grievances or other issues
  • Oversee and manage a performance appraisal system that drives high performance
  • Develop employee onboarding and training promotion programs
  • Monitor and report on overall HR strategies, systems, tactics and procedures
  • Ensure legal compliance throughout human resource management processes
  • Nurture a positive and supporting working environment
  • Manage recruitment and selection processes
  • Advertise our job openings on recruitment platforms, groups and communities across Canada

Requirements

  • 3 - 5 years of professional experience in a recruitment role 
  • Experience recruiting for IT and software development roles
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills required
  • Results driven and outcomes focused
  • Well organized and able to manage multiple roles at the same time 
  • Must have excellent English communication skills; both verbal and written

Desired Experience

  • Academic background or work experience in biology, biochemistry, genetics, or other disciplines involved in the study, treatment or diagnosis of cancers
  • Past experience with software development (coding) and related tools (e.g. source control, unit testing, bug tracking, continuous integration)
  • A technical background or above average understanding of IT concepts (e.g. configuring Linux and Windows environments, hardware virtualization, cloud technologies)
